Music - votre vie?

Hey all!  Hows it rolling over at your side of the world?  As some of you would have already know I am no longer in Malaysia, currently residing in Canada, Vancouver

*sings aloud ~ O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!

Nah!  Regardless where on earth I am, I remained a loyal Malaysian.  I love my country MALAYSIA
(perhaps not the corruption part eh).  Back to topic, I'm pretty sure all of you listened to music.  Music Votre Vie?  (Music your life?)
I cant help but think back, really wayy back to the day when everyone was merely a defenceless child, when mother and father would sing Lullaby to calm our high pitch cries and before we sleep.  We grew up going to kindergarten learning how to sing DO RE MI and tons of other nursery rhymes.   If we observe the pattern and trend of music we listen you will see that music has been accompanying us throughout our development in lives.  So much so, somehow~  someway ~ music became part of us.

Now if you would just imagine with me for a moment what if music stop to exist?  The world would be eerily quiet and dull wouldn’t it?  Music is a direct translation of the society we live in now.  Just look at the MTV and music we listen to now, we are heavily influenced by it without knowing.  Being a marketer, I can’t help but observe the power of marketing that resides within music.  Even if the MTV or music does not reflect the current society, it has the power to slowly mould the society towards its direction.  Why you may ask?  Merely because music has the power to soothe, calm, heal or tear you apart both emotionally and physically.  If a single element has the power to make you feel good, it equally has the power to bring you down.  Marketing a certain product or services in music is nothing new of course but I have seen alot of marketing effort failed to make a significant impact on the market take for example Nokia.  However I have to say that one particular brand caught my attention and has been doing really good infusing their product in music across nations – go observe the MTV and you will see it.  Just to give you a slight hint the brand that has a logo with a big “b” on it.

No matter what music is used for, it is the perfect art and our lives would be very much less complete without it.  Music does not restrict the audience in the way that movies or graphic art does.  The listener can create whatever image she or he wants to.  It is an art that appeals to the conscious mind, but some good music also appeals to the subconscious which makes music possess such influential power.

Music Votre Vie?  Yeap..
