Greed. Good or Bad?

Im pretty sure since young we have been told numerous and countless stories of how greed is NOT good.  I was brought up in a society and culture to obey and somehow I believed all those stories about good and bad.  I never did once thought of challenging the status quo because I was thought to bide and respect them. Well, this was a story of the past and I find myself beginning to challenge articles, thoughts and experience.  By no means these challenges are made for the sake of being rebellious but based on facts and after much given thoughts.

I am going to make a bold statement here by saying Greed is not necessarily a bad attitude to have!
Imagine this with me, if men are easily content with what we have and does have the urge to want more.  Would society improve?  Would we constantly push our limits and increase out boundaries? But it is because men are greedy and never content with what they currently have.  Always on the lookout for something more and better, that is why we constantly look for ways to improve our current situation.

We all know the Wright Brothers invented flight and made airplanes possible to human.  The world was taken by storm with their invention and the impossible were made possible, but if men were just content with it and not work on improving the airplane, bending the law of physics and pushing the limits. the urge to have more of what that is currently available.  Would we have jet planes now?  Would we be able to explore space?  It is because the very nature of men that we are driven by greed.  We have the "want more" attitude that pushes further development on the planes that made technology improve.

Another example which I believe relates even better to you.  Have you ever go into a phone store to get a phone and thought "oh wait!  there is just a 5mp camera on this phone.  Its not good enough! or "It just comes in 2gb ram and 16gb of storage?  so slowww!"  That feeling of wanting and expecting more is categorized as greed. No?  And it is because of these urge.  It creates a demand in the market and being just not content with what we have.  It pushes men to for that extra mile over and over again.

Greed is a necessity for men to strive for more and make life a better life than it already is.  Greed is the pushing what we know to know what we dont already know.  Greed is telling yourself that when you walked that extra mile to walk yet another mile.  I personally believe greed is good when you apply it on certain aspects of your life.
